Treatment of advanced breast cancer in women w/ natural or artificially induced postmenopausal status, who have previously been treated w/ antiestrogens. Also as 1st-line treatment in postmenopausal women w/ advanced breast cancer & pre-op therapy in postmenopausal women w/ localized hormone receptor +ve breast cancer to allow subsequent breast conserving surgery in women not originally considered candidate for this type of surgery, subsequent treatment after surgery should be in accordance w/ standard of care.
