Treatment of susceptible infections including upper & lower resp tract, uncomplicated skin & skin structure infections, uncomplicated UTI, uncomplicated gonorrhea & early Lyme disease.

Product Usage

Adult &, adolescent &ge,13 yr Acute sinusitis, tonsillopharyngitis &, bacterial exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, uncomplicated skin &, skin structure infections 250-500 mg 12 hrly for 10 days. Acute otitis media 500 mg 12 hrly for 10 days. Secondary bacterial infections of acute bronchitis 250-500 mg 12 hrly for 5-10 days. Uncomplicated UTI including pyelonephritis 250-500 mg 12 hrly for 7-10 days. Uncomplicated gonorrhea 1,000 mg as a single dose. Early Lyme disease 500 mg 12 hrly for 20 days.

Should be taken with food.


Cefuroxime axetil


Known hypersensitivity to cefuroxime or any component of the product.

Special Precautions:
Hypersensitivity to penicillins. Consider diagnosis of Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea (CDAD) in patients who develop diarrhea. Discontinue use if seizure develops. History of GI disease particularly colitis. Monitor prothrombin time. Transient Jarisch-Herxheimer reaction. Porphyria
