Used as bronchodilator for the symptomatic relief of bronchospasm in obstructive airway disease eg, bronchial asthma, emphysema &, chronic bronchitis. Given via a nebulizer in moderate to severe or unresponsive asthma.

Warnings

CV diseases eg; ischemic heart disease; arrhythmia or tachycardia; HTN; occlusive vascular disorders including arteriosclerosis & aneurysms. Convulsive disorders; hyperthyroidism or DM; angina pectoris; hypokalemia. Concomitant use with other sympathomimetic drugs. Not indicated for prevention of premature labor associated with toxemia of pregnancy or antepartum hemorrhage. Lactation.
Side effect/s: Tachycardia; palpitations; flushing; fine tremor of skeletal muscles particularly of the hands; nervousness & tension; headache; muscle cramps.
