In breast cancer patients, at the tumor level, Tamoxifen (TAMOXEN) acts primarily as an anti-estrogen, preventing estrogen binding to the estrogen receptor. In women with estrogen receptor positive breast tumors, adjuvant Tamoxifen (TAMOXEN) has been shown to significantly reduce recurrence of the disease.
